Point Radar started as a combination of solo projects by Matt Balogh; Originally recorded between 2013-2019. Balogh re-recorded older tracks and wrote new songs to create Point Radar's debut album Petty Theft, which was released through Big B.O.I Records in October of 2021. With this release, it marked the first time Balogh released music under the name Point Radar.
In 2022, Balogh was introduced to drummer Scott George. They joined with Balogh's current Autumn Syndicate bandmates Juan Berrios and Julian Bennett, and established the full lineup of Point Radar. Playing various shows throughout 2023, including the 2023 Shoreline Summer Fest, Point Radar released their follow-up EP PICKPOCKET in August. The EP mixed together a couple tracks for the band to promote as a full lineup.
The band started demoing for their next album Customer Service around November 2023, and recording sessions started in January 2024. The band released Customer Service on CD and Vinyl (a Big B.O.I Records first) on July 13th 2024. The album showed a shift in tone to a hardcore-punk rooted mix of songs. The CD edition of the album was first made available at their 2024 Shoreline Summer fest performance, however the Vinyl records arrived around August 2024.
While still playing shows to promote Customer Service, the band is beginning to shift focus into writing and recording an upcoming release.

Background and Recording
Petty Theft was a combination project of solo efforts by Matt Balogh. Tracks 5, 11, and 12 were partially rerecorded from a 2013 project called Code of Conduct, others were written and demoed between 2015-2019. With lots of time to sit with the tracks due to the 2020 pandemic, many guitar parts were rerecorded, vocals were redone, lyrics were rewritten, and the project began to sound cohesive. There are many influences on this record, as Balogh was unsure of the direction of the project. Rooted with punk rock energy, the songs explore styles ranging from post hardcore to grunge tinged with some post punk elements.
